Air India has entered into a codeshare agreement with Virgin Australia, allowing passengers to travel on a single ticket to 16 cities in Australia and New Zealand. Under this unilateral agreement, Air India can place its “AI” code on flights operated by Virgin Australia. This enhances travel options for Air India customers, providing seamless connections from Delhi to Melbourne or Sydney and onward to 16 destinations via Virgin Australia flights. These destinations include Adelaide, Ballina/Byron Bay, Brisbane, Cairns, Canberra, Darwin, Gold Coast, Hamilton Island, Hobart, Launceston, Melbourne, Newcastle, Perth, and Sunshine Coast.
Air India operates 14 weekly non-stop flights from Delhi to Melbourne and Sydney. The airline has over 16 codeshare and approximately 100 interline agreements with various other airlines.
